Great greek food in Richmond! Reputation of being one of best in Melbourne! Love the blue and white façade and the white walls inside! Appropriately Greek! You walk into Demitri’s and notice it’s a small café but inviting. However, not everyone knows there’s also a courtyard at the back! When you enter, you want to score a table by the front window. You notice the glass cabinet with all sorts of goodies! I went to this first before I looked at the specials on the blackboard.

Well loved for it’s dips, gourmet salads, spanikopita, and breakfast dishes such as the Baklava French Toast and the Gigantes (version of a big Greek breakfast).

I love the ambience and the walls that resound with pictures and art that pays homage to all things Greek. And the funky stools at the entrance!

Went to Demitri’s Feast for breakfast and ordered egg and bacon in something that looked like a souvlaki. When I commented to the manager on how I loved the garlic (wondering how I would go at work with garlic breath) he told me it wasn’t garlic but ouzo aoli!!! I assume the alcohol is cooked out of it… But I loved it! Apparently a bit of a trademark…

Tried to rock up on a Saturday morning for brunch but packed out and a long wait for a table. That’s Melbourne brunch peak hour for you! Love the coffee! Love the ambience looking out into Swan St! And the character of the manager there who is larger than life! Ouzo aoli!!
