Fatto a Mano is described as an organic bakery in Gertrude St! It transcends a bakery and is a real “foodie” haven. Having walked past it a few times it can be hard to find. (Just look for the line out the door!).

Upon arrival at Fatto a Mano you are just so tempted by the gourmet breads, organic pizza and tasty treats that confront you in the window! Anything on the menu is a delight! The vegetarian pasty is amazing! I’ve been there many times just for that! Generous with quality pastry and gourmet vegetable filling! Transcends the humble pasty!

I also love the Thai chicken sausage roll! Transcends the humble sausage roll! Simple food but gourmet all the way!

Then there’s the great gourmet pizza… I enjoyed a cameo breakfast at Fatto a Mano which consisted of a huge slice of pizza! Breakfast pizza that is! With egg and bacon (and I thought I could detect some herbs). The dough of the pizza was superb with a slight crispiness! And they serve a great coffee!

Also try the rocky road! Popular eating place for locals and local office workers. Usually I take away but occasionally decide to eat in as the ambience is great! Very limited seating! But a great atmosphere, friendly foodie staff and a great precinct with passers by on Gertrude!
