Naked Espresso Bar is a stunning café on Little Bourke St that shines amongst the precinct coffee belt with attitude, vibe and great coffee! I wasn’t sure what drew me in first – the aroma of coffee or the bright yellow colour scheme – like honey to this coffee bee. The vibe inside is great – with jazz (thought it was Louis Armstrong), quirky objects like the red guitar in the window, and super friendly engaging staff behind the counter! I loved their obvious rapport with regulars!

Ostensibly this is a partnership between crew from Elevenses and Toby’s Estate.

I ordered a large latte and ended up sitting down to drink it while promising to come back for a “proper” breakfast later. The low cushion stools at the window counter are impressive. And the coffee was top grade with silky latte with enough strength and crema. I knew it would be great – you could smell a sublime aroma of coffee when you enter and the staff looked like they were coffee specialists. The words “single origin” and “cold pour” appeared on boards.

The house blend and single origins are from impressive Toby’s Estate.

Breakfast options looked great from banana bread to gourmet hot meals. They serve up interesting lunch options such as gourmet bagels and the Roo-ben – a twist on the Rueben sandwich. I noticed macaroons in the corner which apparently come from Luxbite.

Love the funky lighting with naked globes! Love the mosaic tile floor! Love the stained glass window above!  You can sit at tables or at the window overlooking Little Bourke and see people walk up and down the hill!
