One of the best value buffets in Melbourne! For only $11.90 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays Reddy’s Kitchen offers a great Indian buffet at an amazing price. This largish restaurant is popular amongst Indians crying out for some decent authentic Indian dining reminiscent of home! Reddy’s Kitchen is also popular with people like me who enjoy quality buffet choices at cheap rates.

The décor is simple but who cares. I love the ambience and it reminds me of some of my trips to India. There is a tribute to Bollywood with music turned up and pictures on the screen. Love it!

I counted 12 buffet options in the bain maries – all of them quality dishes. All the main favourites are here and a great balance between meat dishes and vegetarian. Of course there is also naan bread and pappadams on offer. The meat curries feature large chunks of meat, and not too dry. Sauces are rich and not watery. There is also a choice of hot and heavily spiced curries, or mild if you prefer.

I also didn’t care that they handed me a plastic plate for my meal. It was a large plastic plate so I was happy! The cutlery is also plastic. Once again, I didn’t care! Service seemed helpful and to me it looked like there was a lot of pride put into the dishes. The manager even encouraged me to eat more! That was a dangerous move! A waitress regularly filled up the bain maries with fresh curries.

Of course I went back to the office feeling the effects of overeating after my two plate fulls! The hot curries really have some kick and I could feel their effects all afternoon. Nevertheless, I’ll be back!
