Sensational! What a precinct overlooking the beautiful Maribyrnong River… Love this part of Melbourne! It’s a great location for a restaurant! There’s a popular walk around this part of the river with mums, dogs, kids and all kinds of people enjoying the great Aussie outdoors…

Love the spaciousness of this restaurant! It is kind of like a boathouse but an extremely sophisticated and large one – you could fit an ocean liner in this place!

The website describes it as, “ The Boathouse Restaurant is a new space, an interpretation of a Boatshed with a deliberate Australian feel. Natural radial cut weather boards, a stone fire place, tin sidings, a polished concrete floor and a ceiling of exposed straw. It seems to fit right in - so well in fact it could have been here for years. Once you have made yourself comfortable you'll never want to leave!”

Love the modern décor! Love the large windows and the light streaming in! I’m not expecting 5 star from Gary Meghan because this is a place is not designed to be super fine dining. But it is a place to relax and enjoy great cheap eats and the Maribyrnong vibe! I’m guessing that many locals do the river walk and end up at The Boathouse. Or indeed walk off the meal!

I came here with a large group for a corporate lunch. We were keen to spend a lazy couple of hours here. Excellent food all around our table and everyone was more than happy… Wood oven pizza is a mainstay including Roast pumpkin, Roast lamb and Spicy sausage. The website says they are made the Italian way with love and with Tipo OO Flour. Delish!

For me it was about the 300g Angus Rump steak – which was cooked to perfection!

The service was great throughout – engaging and attentive to our group.

This is a place I would love to come to for breakfast soon. Breakfast options look great including the big breakfast! I wouldn’t mind scoring a table on the deck overlooking the river. Gary has done well!
