Sauced Pasta Bar - Customised Italian in Windsor

Sauced is a charming Italian restaurant in Chapel St Windsor with a fresh take on pasta dishes. We found the cuisine to be so light and fresh and such a nice change in comparison to the other Italian food in the area.

Sauced have a focus on delivering nutritionally balanced meals which means it's great for both the lads and the ladies.

Sauced use all fresh produce and all sauces and toppings are made fresh on the day, or to order. The best part was that you can sit at the bar and watch the chefs cooking and you can see that they're passionate about delivering quality food. All pasta is made fresh that day (offsite) also.

There's a fantastic menu set up which means you can pick, choose and customise your dish i.e. rigatoni or ravioli as your base, with bolognaise or pesto as your pasta sauce (selection of traditional or gourmet sauces). They even have a selection of 'raw' pasta in the form of zucchini noodles or a raw vegetable medley which really appealed to me as I love a traditional italian pasta sauce. But being calorie concious means I cannot always indulge in Italian food when eating out.

For starters we were served some amazing mozzarella stuffed, parmesan crusted green olives, and some crunchy & indulgent parmesan crusted fries. Then we were served up a delicious dish of fresh vegetable pasta (green beans, zuccini and carrot) with a tangy lemon creme fraich sauce. Divine! We also sampled the pesto fettuccine with fresh broccolini and parmesan (my personal favourite), an outstanding mushroom ravioli dowsed in rich pumpkin pine nut sauce with some persian feta, and a yummy tomato & vegetable linguine.

Alas, I did not get a chance to try the Italian donuts with milk & dark chocolate and vanilla bean ice cream - but I have promised myself I'll be back to try those soon. We were also treated to some divine espresso martini's throughout the evening and a great selection of bubbles and vino, and treated as well to great staff and amazing hospitality.

The set out of the place was modern industrial but the cute bunches of fresh herbs at each dining setting with little herb clippers gave it an authentic homely touch, and the high ceilings, gorgeous exposed brickwork and open kitchen make it a beautiful spacious spot for date night, a quick lunch, or a family meal.

Set amongst some great cafe's and restaurants in my local area, it really stands out as somewhere with individuality that i'll be going back to time and time again for a light, super tasty and heart warming meal.
