Bottega Pasta Classes in August

Bottega, the legendary Italian restaurant on Bourke is presenting an exciting dining experience in August which involves a pasta making class with chef Gabriele. A few of us were fortunate to experience something of a premiere one evening. Check out our Best Italian Restaurants in Melbourne.

The Bottega pasta making class will be held on Saturday 4th August and Saturday 11th August from 11am to 1pm.

The class will be followed by a two course lunch selection from Gabriele's winter menu with matching wine. The cost per ticket is $70.

For reservations you can call Courtney on 96542252.

We were fortunate enough to get a preview of these events as part of the Bottega 10th anniversary celebrations.

Chef Gabriele is a master when it comes to making pasta. To watch him at work one can only marvel. He hails from the Adriatic Coast of Italy and has been honing his skills over the last 15 years.

During these classes Gabriele will share tips, tricks and secrets.

We gathered around as Gabriele prepared the basic ingredients for making pasta.

Then to see him work that dough over and over.

Gabriele puts the pasta through the pasta machine.

But there is great skill in the way he rolls the pasta then cuts it (with some really helpful tips).

The class is participative and I really enjoyed making some pasta with Gabriele. Participants will be able to make one of Gabriele's dishes while enjoying a glass of wine.

Without giving it all away, Gabriele teaches pasta making so that pretty much anyone can make great fresh pasta.

As he himself said, his own grandmother can do this!
