Dandelion has brought back it's popular Vietnamese Lunchboxes for those looking for a tasty fresh and convenient lunch in Elwood. The Vietnamese lunch boxes are Dandelion-style lunch 'bento  boxes' with Banh Mi featured on all 3 choices of "lunchbox" - a meat one, a seafood option, and a vegetarian version. The World Loves Melbourne was invited along to Dandelion to experience the Vietnamese lunchboxes.

The Vietnamese lunchboxes are served on attractive trays with a basket for the Banh Mi. Great presentation.

We always love visiting Dandelion in Elwood with its fresh dishes with big flavours, top notch presentation and engaging service. This restaurant has built a loyal following of locals as well as those who drive across Melbourne (as we did) for the experience. The fit out is modern and vibrant and we always notice groups that are dining for their catch ups. With many "creatives" also in the area, the Vietnamese lunchboxes are perfect for those who can't afford to dine for a couple of hours and are stretched for their lunch break.

Excellent combination. Zesty pickles featured pickled daikon and cucumber.

The meat version with Chicken was delightful and quite filling.

The Seafood version with Rockling fish was delicious.

Time pressure or not, this is a great lunch option. Banh Mi has always been one of our lunch favourites, as has pho. The broth of the pho was wonderful and had depth. With chilli in the cup, there was some welcome kick.

Superb broth was a feature of the mini veg pho with noodles, mushrooms, tofu and bean shoots.

The Banh Mi was a generous size with perfect fresh roll and zesty ingredients including coriander and chilli. We experienced both the meat (chicken) and the seafood (Rockling fish) versions. The Honey grilled chicken had a delicious char. We were told by one of the customers that the Vegetarian version was also a winner. The pickles were a great complement and the sweet treat was a great way to round off the lunchbox meal. Delightful chocolate fudge.

A glass of wine or beer also went down a treat. The Kingfisher beer has a slight sour nuance, perfect with the lunchboxes.

These 'lunchboxes' can be made vegan or gluten-free as well (the chefs replaces the Banh Mi bread rolls with lettuce cups!)  https://dandelion.ws/ lunchbox. Highly recommended.
