Cookes Food "What We're Made Of" Event in St Kilda

We were invited to the stunning Cookes Food "What We're Made Of" event at Cookes Food HQ in St Kilda. Sophie Cookes is one of Melbourne's most talented chefs and heads up her own company specialising in bespoke high end food experiences for events, weddings and corporates. This was a night of celebration showcasing what the chefs can do and was a series of signature hit dishes.

Sophie Cookes was as engaging as ever and her bubbly persona would be ideal in front of a camera for TV and a cooking series (someone we want to see on camera). We were also impressed with chef James who has been with Cookes Food for several years, and recent addition Andy who shone in serving our table, plus the rest of the team. Service is first class all the way, an example of what you will get if you book Cookes Food for your next event.

Stratciatella, smoked tomato, sea salt and green chilli oil - served in a tasting spoon. The Pan fried scallop tartlets with taramasalata and scampi caviar were also a classy canape of note.sophiecookesweb 21 of 116

Brisket katsu with smoked relish and watercress was a smash hit and something I want to eat every day.

The ambience was impressive at Cookes Food HQ in St Kilda with stunning table settings and candlelight, if not slightly tricky for photography.

Rustic and rewarding was the Lamb shoulder with smoked yoghurt and chimmi churri. Sure to be a winner at your next event.

A touch of theatre with the blowtorch on this delicious and quality seasonal fruit laden creamy Zabiglione di frutta.

Another memorable event with Sophie Cookes and her team. Every dish was a highlight and the service impeccable. Sophie Cookes doesn't have food packages as such but will sit down with you and design your event. Rumour has it that Cookes Food was involved in the catering for the AFL Coach's Dinner near the end of the season. We reckon Cookes Food should get the contract for the AFL functions and dinners. Highly recommended.
