Bonny Bar & Kitchen in Fitzroy is up there with the best bar and kitchen experiences in Melbourne and is at the peak of its powers. It’s an all star cast with James Cornwall (ex Cumulus Inc Head Chef) exceeding expectations as Head Chef, with beer icon and owner Adam Betts offering a bevy of compelling drinks and ex Vue group Terina providing the best of experiences on the floor with a crack team.
The Cornet inlet fillet’o whiting is a must order, as are the marinated Portarlington mussels, and the Western Plains pork T-bone, davidson plum 7 spice is a showstopper.
Not to mention the Yarra Valley salmon caviar, smoked onion dip, crisps, the melt in your mouth Wyndham farm barramundi, chickpea miso, lime and the Spelt flat bread.
Hand cut chips are fun. Desserts also deliver including Vanilla semifreddo, strawberry, basil, vincotto and a delectable Hunted & Gathered chocolate, vanilla, blood orange.
There’s an authenticity about Bonny Bar & Kitchen including a genuine love of hospitality and an enviro-friendly farm to plate philosophy.
