Melbourne welcomes the new MINI 5-door hatch

The latest MINI has arrived in style to Melbourne.

MINI Garage Kings Way hosted the launch of the new MINI 5-door hatch at Docklands Studios. What was an empty industrial space was transformed into a chic, yet intimate venue that invited guests to take part in all that is MINI: elegance, comfort and style. The World Loves Melbourne was invited along to check out the latest in MINI design and style.

Every detail was tended to from the smooth music, the cool lighting and even the MINI backdrop for guests to take photos. As unique and customable as MINI cars are, guests were giving food choices that ranged from tacos, to pizza to pressed sandwiches and the dessert bars enticed people’s sweeter side with mini-sized treats including doughnuts and chocolate dipped marshmallows. The pop-up cinema was one of the highlights as guests were able to get cozy on beanbags and gave nod to the MINI’s British heritage with recent blockbuster hitKingsman: The Secret Service.

If that wasn’t enough, there was still the main attraction: the MINI 5-door hatch in its British roadster glory. This modernised classic is complete with new extras including more space, two extra doors and a smaller engine giving the car better performance without consuming more fuel. Guests were also able to enjoy the entire MINI fleet displayed around the studio. Being in the presence of so many MINI’s it was clear that there’s a MINI to fit any personality and everyone waited patiently to admire, sit and pose for photos in their favourite car.

For a small car, the MINI event packed in a lot of fun and if you didn’t walk in a MINI fan, you definitely left as one.

Melburnians have become the country’s true lovers of the cheeky MINI car brand, with the MINI Garage Melbourne dealership selling the highest number of MINI vehicles nationally. At this exclusive VIP event which celebrated the launch of the MINI five-door hatch, BMW Melbourne Managing Director Geoff Briscoe said that MINI is very much part of Melbourne’s urban and cosmopolitan lifestyle.

“MINI has a very broad customer base, spanning Melbourne’s different personalities. We have creatives and young corporates, new families and of course the MINI loyalists who all want to get their hands on the latest MINI,” Mr Briscoe said. Last year MINI Garage Melbourne was recognised as MINI car dealership of the year, trumping 17 other dealerships nationally, and with sales continuing to grow the Melbourne dealership is setting its sights on the same recognition in 2015. “We pride ourselves on offering our customers the best possible experience, from their first enquiry to after-purchase support. Melburnians expect superior and unique experiences, so it’s no surprise that MINI is a popular brand for local car buyers. “We launched the MINI five-door hatch at the end of last year and this has extended our customer base to young families and Melburnians who love the MINI brand but require the space of a four-door car,” Mr Briscoe said.

The MINI five-door hatch offers all the stylish attributes of a two-door, but with extra room. It comes with alloy wheels, a Bluetooth hands-free phone connection, digital radio and a USB socket to connect your smartphone. MINI also offers numerous accessories that let you personalise your car, including bonnet stripes, contrasting roof colours and a Chili Pack, which brings sports seats, front fog lights, ambient interior lighting and part-leather upholstery. Alternatively, you might want to add satellite-navigation or downloadable apps that let you access your Twitter and Facebook accounts.
