The Boundary Social VIP Launch at MCG for Boxing Day Test
The Boundary Social is the place to be this summer as Cricket Australia's new exclusive viewing experience. Already successful for the Brisbane Test The Boundary Social is featuring at the upcoming Domain Boxing Day Test in Melbourne (Australia v New Zealand). The World Loves Melbourne was invited to the launch event on the hallowed MCG turf (a thrill in itself) for an intimate event to taste test The Boundary Social’s premium gourmet grazing and beverage menu. And we were highly impressed.
Bays of the MCG will be transformed into exciting The Boundary Social. Literally an exclusive viewing experience near the boundary.
Imagine coming to watch the Boxing Day Test with your mates for an exclusive experience. Obviously there are several attractive options to watch the Boxing Day Test for Members and corporates but with The Boundary Social there is now an exclusive experience for members of the public.
The Boundary Social Cocktail on arrival.
Cricket Australia are concerting several bays of the MCG into an elevated Deck for The Boundary Social experience. Significantly part of the old bay 13 is being converted into The Boundary Social; it's like "yobbo" to "yuppy" in the new age of cricket. Bring it on we say!
Premium beverages.
Premium canapés of which the Torched yellowfin tuna was exceptional.
We were treated on arrival at the launch with the Boundary Social cocktail, and then indulged in catered premium canapés and refreshments. The menu included canapés such as Pickled Beetroot Tart, Torched yellowfin tuna, Okonomiyaki Japanese pancake, Istra prosciutto egg custard basket and Victorian lamb shank pie. We highly rated all the canapés and the Victorian lamb shank pie was a personal favourite.
Victorian lamb shank pie is a sensation.
This picture after I grabbed a couple of delicious Japanese pancake canapés.
For dessert the Raspberry Feuillet was a standout.
Beverages available included the Boundary Social Cocktail, T'Gallant Prosecco, Penfolds Autumn Riesling, Matakana Estate Pinot Noir, Lager, Imported Pilsener, Apple Cider and soft drinks and water. Quite a range.
MCG looking in top shape for a big summer of cricket.
The sneak peek experience we enjoyed at the launch brought all the aspects of The Boundary Social to life, and The World Loves Melbourne was one of the first to experience it ahead of The Boundary Social making its Boxing Day Test debut in December.
