Australian MotoGP 2025 with Prosecco DOC and ICCI Melbourne

Our weekend at the 2025 Australian MotoGP on Phillip Island felt like a dream from the moment my wife Sam and I set off early on Friday morning, leaving home at 8am for the two-hour drive along the scenic coastal roads. The anticipation had been building for weeks, especially with our exclusive access to the Gold Suite in the VIP Village, courtesy of Prosecco DOC.

As we collected our parking passes from the Accreditation Centre and made our way to Suite 4, the energy of the circuit was already electric - bikes screaming through practice sessions, the salty ocean breeze mixing with the scent of fuel and excitement.

Stepping into the Gold Suite was like entering another world. Perched high above the pit lane with unobstructed views of the sweeping turns and the main straight, it offered the perfect blend of luxury and immersion. The attentive staff welcomed us warmly, immediately offering chilled flutes of Prosecco DOC, its delicate bubbles and crisp apple notes setting the tone for the days ahead.

We settled into comfortable seating, chatting with other guests - fellow enthusiasts from around the world, some decked in rider merch, others in smart-casual attire like our chinos and collared shirts. A huge thanks went out to Lorenzo from Prosecco DOC, whose hospitality made everything seamless; he guided us through the schedule, ensuring we didn't miss a moment.

Friday kicked off with the Pit Lane Walk, where we wandered among the garages, getting up close to the gleaming machines of stars like Francesco Bagnaia, Fabio Quartararo, and our local hero Jack Miller. The paddock buzzed with mechanics fine-tuning bikes and riders preparing mentally. By midday, we headed to the big tent for a Prosecco bottle activation, toasting the weekend ahead. The afternoon brought more action, and we racked up steps exploring the circuit, soaking in the coastal views and spotting wildlife glimpses that make Phillip Island so unique.

Saturday amplified the thrill. Arriving early, we dove straight into the qualifying drama, watching from the suite as Quartararo snatched pole, with Bezzecchi and Miller joining him on the front row - a massive boost for the home crowd. The suite's gourmet spreads and endless Prosecco DOC kept us fueled, the wine's light, refreshing profile pairing perfectly with the high-adrenaline sessions.

We mingled with guests, sharing predictions about the championship battles - Marc Márquez already crowned but absent due to injury, leaving the runner-up spots wide open. Evening plans shifted with thoughts of staying overnight on the island, but we headed back, buzzing from the day's energy.

Sunday was the pinnacle, arriving early once again, under threatening skies that held off just enough for dry racing. The Pit Lane Walk offered one last close-up, followed by a guest appearance from Senna in Moto2 at our Gold Suite adding extra flair. The main race, postponed by an hour, built unbearable tension. From our prime vantage in the Gold Suite, we watched Raul Fernandez dominate after Bezzecchi's double long-lap penalty dropped him back - he'd stormed the sprint win the day before but paid the price for an earlier incident. Fernandez pulled away masterfully on his Trackhouse Aprilia, crossing the line for his maiden MotoGP victory, with Fabio Di Giannantonio charging to second on the Ducati and Bezzecchi recovering brilliantly for third.

The heartbreak came early for Jack Miller, our Aussie legend in his farewell home race before switching teams. Running strongly in the top six, he crashed out on lap six, sliding into the gravel - a gut-wrenching moment that silenced the cheers momentarily. Yet Miller remains a legend, his aggressive style and fan appeal undimmed.

The podium celebration was pure magic: Fernandez, Di Giannantonio, and Bezzecchi spraying the iconic Prosecco DOC shower, bottles popping as the crowd erupted. Lorenzo arranged for us to get close to the action, following the yellow line to the big tent post-race and gathering around 4pm for prime podium views. The effervescent spray symbolized joy and triumph, Prosecco DOC's partnership with MotoGP shining brightly as the official sparkling wine.

Throughout the three days, the Gold Suite's exceptional hospitality stood out - attentive staff refilling glasses, gourmet bites, and that panoramic perspective making us feel part of the inner circle. We spotted a few celebs amid the 90,000-plus fans packing the circuit, adding glamour to the raw racing. Walking between suite, pits, and paddock racked up our steps, but every stride was worth it for the immersive experience. Sipping Prosecco DOC elevated it all, its Italian elegance contrasting beautifully with the bold, courageous riders battling at speeds that defy belief on this iconic, high-speed track.

Leaving Phillip Island that Sunday evening, exhausted but exhilarated, we reflected on an unforgettable weekend. The thrill of Fernandez's breakthrough win, the podium party's fizz, the paddock energy, and the luxury of the Gold Suite - all tied together by Prosecco DOC's generous touch. It wasn't just a race but a celebration of speed, passion, and sparkling moments that we'll cherish forever. Thank you again to Prosecco DOC and ICCI Melbourne. Cheers to more like this.
