SKIN AND THREADS Partners with Rebecca Judd
Winter 2014 sees Skin and Threads launch an exclusive new capsule collection with the stunning and talented Super Model Rebecca Judd.
With Rebecca already being a long-term fan of the label Skin and Threads, Penelope Cohen, co-founder and creative director at Skin and Threads, approached her with the idea of a collaboration and things started developing naturally from there. After initial design meetings an overall theme of edginess and cool sophistication started to emerge on which the capsule collection is based on.
Heavy metal inspired graphic t-shirts and luxe sweaters, edgy gold thread knits and a casually chic chambray shirt form the basis of the capsule collection with a padded lace bomber jacket with gold detailing being the hero item of the collection.
“I love the relaxed but refined look of Skin and Threads and the gorgeous, quality fabrics the label uses, so I jumped at the chance to collaborate with the team. I loved working together with Penny Cohen, drawing inspiration from some of my favourite stylistic looks and also embracing my own personality. We discussed fabrics, leathers, lace, cuts, silhouettes, fit- you name it! It was an amazing experience to be so involved and see the collection come to life from start to finish”, says Rebecca Judd.
It is the first time for Skin and Threads to collaborate with someone on a stand-alone capsule collection as well as a first for Rebecca to collaborate with a designer on a fashion range.
Skin and Threads has been going from strength to strength over the last few seasons with additional stand alone retail stores opening last year in Sydney (The Strand Arcade) and Melbourne (Emporium) in April 2014 making it four stores in total and additional store openings are on the horizon. The label also has a strong and loyal international celebrity following including Sarah Jessica Parker, Charlize Theron, Miranda Kerr, Jessica Alba and Naomi Watts.
The Rebecca Judd x Skin and Threads Collection will be available at all skin and Threads boutiques: Armadale, Chadstone, Emporium, The Strand and Online.
