H&M Gearing Up To Hit Australia

The fashion internationalisation of Melbourne is accelerating. Swedish fashion giant H&M are gearing up to hit Australia.  After the success of Topshop and Zara it makes sense that another fashion icon like H&M would find Australia an attractive location.

H & M, Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M), has signed the first store in Melbourne, Australia to open in the first half year of 2014.

The full concept flagship store will open at the landmark location of Melbourne´s GPO. With a planned launch during the first half year of 2014, the store will be around 5,000 square meters over 3 floors, and will be one of H&M’s largest stores globally.

“We are very excited to announce that we will be opening the first H&M store in Melbourne, Australia during 2014. It will be one of H&M’s largest stores globally. We look forward to bringing fashion and quality at the best price to the Australian customers,” says Hans Andersson, Country Manager for H&M Australia.

Having visited H&M in Dubai, this is an exciting retail store with fashionable and unique items for all ages. I was particularly impressed with their childrens fashion as unique and stylish - more chic than cute.

H&M is known for its amazing design collaborations including Marni, Versace and Commes des Garcons). They also partnered in an exciting collaboration with avant-garde Maison Martin Margiela.

H&M is massive with around 2,600 stores in 44 markets.
