Lunch at Stunning Morris House
We were invited to lunch at Morris House, a hot new Melbourne food and wine destination. Morris House boasts an NYC-inspired basement comedy club, a stylish ground-level dining room, an inviting level one bar & terrace and an expansive rooftop with city views.
We dined in the lower level classic dining room which oozes style including views of Exhibition St, chic lighting and decor, a coffered ceiling and wainscoting.
We ordered -
Wild Folk Nero D’Avola (highly recommended)
Mini prawn rolls (fun and tasty)
Free Range Hand-Crumbed Chicken Parma 350g (one of the best parmas I've had for a while - cooked to perfection and the quality free range chicken is a winner)
The Loaded New York Bagel (super generous filling and a nuance of New York)
Spanner Crab Spaghetti (vibrant presentation and a flavour and texture triumph)
Bouzy New York Cheesecake (so rewarding and the perfect way to end your meal)
Dishes impressed in terms of elevation of pub classics, a touch of nostalgia, generosity, presentation and quality of ingredients.
We also checked out the spectacular all-weather rooftop and the neon lit comedy basement. Each level of Morris House has its own character. Kudos to @australianvenueco working with @reddesigngroup for this exciting stylish venue. It's already super popular and is packed across the weekends.
