Dinner at Ronnie’s in Rialto
Ronnie's has become an Italian favourite in melbourne, bringing the energy and warmth of family dinners, romantic dates, and the buzz of big nights out in the city. We were invited along to experience the new menu in their private dining room.
Ronnie’s brings a true taste of genuine Italian to its casual CBD-located venue that has everyone hooked.
Head to Ronnie’s in Melbourne’s Rialto Piazza to enjoy its new menu celebrating the very best of Italian cuisine that infuses classic flavours with modern twists. From its fermented potato focaccia to its house-made pasta, the menu is made to be shared amongst friends and family. (We managed to get a park in Rialto itself which was a bonus).

Pasta Fusilli with Spicy Alla Vodka Sauce and Whipped Ricotta – with the addition of breadcrumbs this Southern Italian classic offers warmth in chillies and delicious creaminess. (My favorite dish).

Gnocchi and Grandma’s Bolognese – a traditional dish from Bologna from a family recipe passed-down through the generations featuring hand-made gnocchi filled with ricotta cheese (also known as gnudi)
Chicken Parmesan – infused with basil, the golden crumbed chicken is dressed with fresh mozzarella and tomato sugo for the ultimate Italian classic.
Located in what was previously Guy Grossi’s Osteria Merchant, Ronnie’s interiors have been given a fresh look by design firm Mitchell & Eades. Accommodating up to 80 guests, the space is reminiscent of a neighbourhood Italian and features bentwood chairs, white linen tablecloths, blue and white striped upholstery, vintage light pendants, industrial fixtures and vintage photos from the family archives.
Outside in Rialto Piazza, an open-air terrace wraps the front of the restaurant and is the perfect spot for people-watching, a casual drink or afternoon dining. Guests can enjoy Ronnie’s $38 express lunch special including a pasta dish and side salad, perfect for those on the go.
