Goldilocks Bar Cocktail Evening with East 9th Brewing
Chillin on a Melbourne rooftop bar in the CBD is always a pleasure. Especially when its a nursery rhyme themed bar.
Goldilocks is one of those Melbourne treasures almost hidden away above Noodle Kingdom on Swanston St. This is a chic bar with bartenders that know their trade. Invited on a cold Spring evening we were treated to a cocktail class by two supremo bartenders, with the invitation to design our own cocktails. The platform was East 9th Brewing drinks that formed many of the cocktails, including sangria, cider and ginger beer.

How about sangria in a bottle this summer? The East 9th Brewing Fog City range has been a hit, including the alluring packaging. The ability to get sangria into a bottle is very cool - and relatively inexpensive considering how much sangria can be in restaurants. Check out the Sangria inspired cocktails at Goldilocks. Deep red colour of ripest grapes combining with natural citrus fruits.
Here is the sangria inspired cocktail with blood orange and cinamon. Cocktails always balance the sour and the sweet. Here the sangria was combined with fruits and spices to provide the perfect refreshing cocktail.
The East 9th Ginger Beer was used with tea and lemon, agave syrup, spices, and fresh cuts of ginger to concoct a Margeurita with Cider.
Goldilocks also prepared a Black and Tan like cocktail with Gin (West Winds Gin), stout syrup, spices and tea syrup. So good. And a cocktail featuring 666 Vodka with buttery tones was memorable.
It was then we were encouraged to design our own cocktails - and it was amazing what the blogger crew present came up with... Mixing spirits with fruits is one thing, but getting the right balance is another! Think I might stick to my day job...
Small bites, sliders and sharing plates at Goldilocks are a great accompaniment to the cocktails.
