Stirring It Up in Ringwood

Stirr it Up Cafe (spelt with double "r") is delivering the goods in Ringwood, and is a bright spark in the precinct. The World Loves Melbourne has to ponder when it comes to recommending cafes in the outer east, but the situation is changing. We visited Stirr It Up Cafe for a business meeting and were impressed by this modern friendly cafe in the burbs. The challenge for cafes in outer regions is that people always compare them to "city cafes". If a cafe is really good they get the acclaim of "this cafe is so good it could be in the CBD!" The truth is that not every cafe in the CBD is amazing. Personally I love the CBD but there are several cafes in the outer east I visit to grab a coffee. Or else I can make one at home no worries being a trained barista.

It's an interesting outlook at Stirr It Up cafe, just down from The Firehouse, with Maroondah Highway as the backdrop. There's a pleasure in sitting outside at the tables as the morning traffic whizzes by on the highway. Inside Stirr It Up there's plenty of space, with modern decor, providing the perfect place to meet with friends. An all day breakfast menu is on offer.

Stirr It Up Cafe hit the mark with Eggs Benadicto (as opposed to Eggs Benadict), with perfectly cooked eggs and Hollandaise sauce, rewarding crispy bacon, with a superb hash brown. I don't recally normally getting a hash brown with Eggs Benedict so this is a bonus.

Healthier choices on the menu include the Layered Granola and the Bubble and Squeak with vego pattie. Smashed avocado is another popular dish, with sourdough the bread of choice. OK, so Stirr It Up are on trend with the healthier eating options.

Coffee is also excellent here, albeit served in a long glass. The good news is that the coffee is large, and with double shot of decent beans, it does the trick.

Stirr It Up cafe has a pleasant welcoming modern vibe. You can see above that the outdoor area is spacious, with a smattering of bright red stools amid more sturdy chairs. There's a community feel here with notices and community happenings on a section of the wall.

For those who don't want a massive breakfast,  many cafes these days offer fast "on the run" choices. At Stirr It Up Cafe the Breakfast roll is a winner, with egg and bacon in decent fresh bread. And check out the delightful treats in the cabinet.

The look is minimalist yet modern, with a large communal table ready for those who like to read the paper... Or maybe attempt a board meeting.

Staff were friendly and keen to please, not aloof. Julie the owner is proud of her cafe. Check it out!
