HUXTABURGER ANNOUNCES NEW TONKATSU BURGER AS PART OF PORKFEST
In celebration of PorkFest, Huxtaburger has added a brand new burger to their menu – The Tonkatsu Burger. It's no secret The World Loves Melbourne is a fan of Huxtaburger and we visit regularly. Daniel Wilson is known for innovation and spontaneity, and The Tonkatsu Burger brings the exciting combination of pork and slaw with Japanese influences.
Available in the Collingwood Huxtaburger store from Thursday 26 March, the newcomer will feature crumbed Australian pork loin, apple and fennel coleslaw and generous amounts of Tonkatsu mayonnaise, served in one of Huxtaburger’s signature buns.
Huxtable head chef and Huxtaburger partner, Daniel Wilson is an official PorkStar and is excited about the new addition, “The Tonkatsu Burger unites three of my great loves – pork, burgers and cooking with Asian ingredients and influences.”
The Australian Festival of Pork (PorkFest) runs from 22 March through 25 April and celebrates our Australian pork, focusing on different cuts every year.
The Tonkatsu Burger will be available in the Smith Street store for one weekend only, from Thursday 26 March until Sunday 29 March.

First opening in 2011, Huxtaburger was the brainchild of Daniel Wilson, Dante Ruaine and Jeff Wong. Having noticed that Smith Street lacked a fast food alternative to kebabs, the Northside trio opened a diner that offered a selection of burgers, chips and beer with a focus on good quality produce. Two new stores have since opened, in the CBD and Prahran.
Get on it.
