Celebrating Release Disney's Maleficent: Mistress of Evil & Themed Dinner at Cutler & Co.
With the much anticipated release of Disney's new movie Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (release date Oct 17) starring Angelina Jolie, The World Loves Melbourne was invited to a preview screening at HOYTS Melbourne Central followed by a candel light immersive banquet good v evil Maleficent-themed dinner at iconic Cutler & Co. This was a stunning partnership between Disney and Broadsheet and one of the events of the year.
Disney's Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, sees the return of Angelina Jolie as the misunderstood Maleficent and Elle Fanning as the courageous Princess Aurora. This time they are joined by Michelle Pfeiffer as Queen Ingrith, a new provocateur that threatens the peace of the magical Moors. Maleficent and Aurora are invited to Queen Ingrith’s palace for a banquet to celebrate Aurora’s upcoming marriage to the Queens’ son – however, disaster strikes, new enemies are made and the banquet is destroyed in a fiery green light.

Twisted Desire cocktail on arrival at Cutler & Co. featuring Melbourne Gin, Company gin, Maidenii dry vermouth with Noilly Prat vermouth.
Due to embargo we can't give a review but we had a magnificent time at the film preview at HOYTS Melbourne Central including beverages and themed cupcakes. Then we travelled around to Melbourne institution Cutler & Co, Andrew McConnell’s fine diner in Fitzroy, where we enjoyed a one-off, sprawling banquet inspired by the theme “good and evil”, a culinary extension of Queen Ingrith’s own banquet in the film. The restaurant was adorned by elaborate arrangements by beloved Melbourne florist Hattie Molloy.

Drinks menu hit the high notes with premium Twisted Desire cocktail, premium Prosecco and Australian wines.
Smoked maple glazed duck in two services; with first service featuring pear and licorice.
The second service of duck was delicious Duck Leg pie and prune.
Magical candelight themed dinner.
Dessert featured rich and indulgent Chocolate Delice.
This was a fabulous event not to be missed and an outstanding partnership between Disney and Broadsheet. Check out the film!
