Stunning Staycation at Rydges Camperdown in Sydney
Stunning staycation at Rydges Camperdown the perfect place to stay in Sydney. What sets Rydges Camperdown apart is its location (with city views and close to King St Newtown), great team, affordability, pool facility, undercover parking and excellent Rowley’s restaurant.
Upon checking in I was blessed with a cheese platter and cold local craft beers in the room. What an epic surprise! I was also blown away by the city view from my room on the 7th floor of the hotel. Clear views of the Sydney CBD only a few km away. Through my stay I enjoyed the changing moods of Sydney from sunrise to sunset to night views. Spectacular.
A tour of the hotel from Abhi, Director of Sales, showed me a host of features and benefits of staying in this hotel. For those driving, there is ample undercover parking, plus parking spaces outdoors. Abhi mentioned there are buses of guests that love to stay at Rydges Camperdown and there are bus parks available.
I also checked out the extensive conference facilities utilised by local businesses and entities, including small intimate, as well as large, conference rooms.
My room had everything I needed including a fridge and wardrobe to hang my clothes. Plus a desk and chair if I wanted to do some work. A large TV was perfect for me to watch the Matildas battle it out in the FIFA Women's World Cup. I was also able to get the perfect night's sleep from the comfortable bed. The bathroom was also excellent, with a rain shower.
Rowley's restaurant is another feature of Rydges Camperdown and breakfast was a real highlight with a wide range of breakfast options, both continental and hot buffet. A dedicated coffee station with barista made coffee was a great start to the day.
Dinner at Rowley's was exceptional featuring a must-order cheesy garlic bread, the melt in your mouth Lamb Shank, perfectly cooked Steak, and excellent sides of Steamed vegetables and Chips. Not to mention the delicious Panna Cotta with ice cream. Our meal was paired with fabulous Bruno Shiraz from the Barossa Valley and Credaro Kinship Cabernet from WA.
A shout out to the dedicated and engaging staff of Rowley's who go the extra mile. To be honest I was impressed with all staff at Rydges Camperdown and Mitchell the General Manager has insilled an outstanding customer service culture.
The pool area is excellent with surrounding plants and plenty of space to relax poolside and enjoy a dip.
A point of distinction is that Rydges Camperdown features craft beers from the plethora of local breweries such as Wayward Brewing Co., Young Henrys and The Grifter Brewing Co. A treasure trove of top notch beers in the Inner West region.
Easy accessibility via transport is another feature. A bus stop down the road was handy to travel to my nearby conference. The staff are happy to help book a taxi. And it's only a short walk to iconic bustling King St Newtown with its cafes and restaurants and vintage shops, among other attractions.
Such an enjoyable and rewarding stay at Rydges Camperdown and I intend to return.
