From the moment we stepped into the Deluxe King Room in the Novotel I knew this was a cut above your average airport stay. The room was spacious and stylish, as was the modern bathroom, complete with luxe amenities. The coffee, snacks and mini fridge were thoughtfully stocked, perfect for a quiet moment before taking in the panoramic view of Melbourne Airport and beyond. A delightfully serene vista considering the busy runways below.
One of the highlights was an epic massage at Higher State, where wellness meets luxury. The spa’s tranquil atmosphere combined with a skilled therapist, made for a relaxing rejuvenating experience, seamlessly continuing with access to the well-appointed gym, indoor heated pool, and infrared sauna. It’s a “wellness wonderland” tucked right by the airport!
Dinner at Boccata restaurant was joyous, showcasing local ingredients with dishes like Mount Zero Olives, Potato focaccina and Prosciutto di Parma with Taralli biscuits. The Mortadella pizza from the wood-fired oven was a standout, as was the Rigatoni with Tomatoes, stracciatella, pangrattato. Sides, such as fries and salad, complemented well. Add to that a strong cocktail game and an excellent wine list.
The Fior di latte soft serve dessert drizzled with olive oil and Murray salt was simple, yet rewarding.
Don’t sleep on the buffet breakfast; it’s arguably one of the best you’ll find in a hotel, offering both variety and quality.
