Melbourne Spring Fashion Week was set alight at City Square by David Jones, with a pre-empting of what we might expect for the Spring Racing Carnival.

Creativity brimmed around bold prints and colours.

David Jones ambassador Samantha Harris opened the show in orange Tweed by Willow.

Melbourne black is being trumped by a bolder expression of colour.

Another trend is pastels and lace, with bold broad colour being accompanied by intricacy.

The David Jones show was a great start to a fabulous and exciting week.
