Kathmandu's 30th Anniversary Celebration
Kathmandu the legendary lifestyle and adventure brand recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. The World Loves Melbourne was invited to the celebration at stylish Smart Artz Gallery.
Since 1987 Kathmandu has been designing gear to take on New Zealand and the world! We recently benefitted from Kathmandu gear on our trip to the Canadian snowfields. It's awesome!
Media and supporters gathered and the gathering was encouraged to wear their Kathmandu gear. The brand launched a limited edition heritage range to celebrate it's 30 years in business.
Kathmandu have an emphasis on quality and design with both the planet and people in mind. Kathmandu started in New Zealand and the first retail store was in Melbourne's Hardware Lane in 1987, now with some 165 stores across New Zealand, Australia and the UK as well as an online retail store.
Highlights of the evening included a discussion between media personality and Melbourne favourite Jules Lund, Olympian Courtney Atkinson, and youngest person to solo circumnavigate the world, Laura Dekker.
An interactive look at Kathmandu’s brand history was a stunning presentation.
Food stalls featuring tastes from around the world to help you relive your adventures was a welcome innovation.
Media and business icon Jules Lund looking the part.
Tips from the famous pack master, Daan Dijkstra (so you can pack less and do more on your next adventure) was invaluable.
Kathmandu is also inviting customers to share images of their Kathmandu gear over the past 30 years on Instagram via the hashtag #Kathmandu87.
