Taste of Melbourne Sneak Peak with Luxembourg Bistro, Bass & Flinders and Milk The Cow

The World Loves Melbourne (Narani Smyth) was invited to a fabulous sneak peak of Taste of Melbourne evening with Luxembourg, Bass & Flinders and Milk The Cow. A highlight on the Melbourne culinary calendar Taste of Melbourne in partnership with Electrolux takes place from November 12-15 on the beautiful lakeside lawns at Albert Lake in Albert Park...

Bass & Flinders Distillery has been operating in Red Hill on the gorgeous Mornington Peninsula since 2009. They are an amazing artisanal distillery which produce grape spirit using a traditional Alembic Pot Still to create a range of world class distillations.

Luxembourg Bar & Bistro another one of the Andrew McConnell family is a modern European bistro with a menu that combines the classic European dishes with Head Chef Chris Watson’s unique modern touch.Next door is the licensed fromagerie Milk the Cow which offers over 150 artisan cheeses perfectly paired with boutique wines and alcohol.

The evening began with an amazing gin master class with Bob from Bass & Flinders distillery. We explored the many different types of unique flavours which can be added to gin and were able to have our very own bespoke gin created and will be delivered to us. This is a definite masterclass one must try!

Taste of Melbourne promises to be amazing and Luxembourg will be cooking up their epic Soft Shell Crab Roll. This delicious soft shell crab is served with a brioche bun with tartare sauce and ice berg. This is sure to be a contender for best dish.

Dessert by Luxembourg at Taste of Melbourne is this decadent Ice Cream sandwich. Chocolate biscuit with salt and almond with ice cream sandwiched in the middle. So delicious.

We then made our way next door to Milk the Cow where we were taken on speciality cheese flights. We decided to try the Fortified Flight which consists of four 15ml pours matched with four tastings of cheese some of which included Le Dauphin from France and Monte Enebro from Spain.

This was such a fun evening, with thanks to Adam and the team from Hot House media.
