Cecconi's Restaurant Oaks Day Gentleman's Brunch

Cecconi's the iconic Italian restaurant in Flinders Lane recently hosted a Gentleman's Oak Day Brunch. While Oaks Day is known as ladies day, it was great that Kate & Co with Cecconi's put on a brunch for the gentleman. Here we were able to enjoy choice cocktails, a scrumptious breakfast and gain some racing tips for the big day.

It's not often I get presented with a Best Bets Guide for the races, and this was a playful part of the breakfast.

A compelling menu served up some of Cecconi's finest brunch dishes including the Big Breakfast, Eggs Benedict, Porridge, Smashed Avo and The Meat Lover.

Fine gentlemen graced the long table at Cecconi's including social media influencers and elite media. The elegance of the private room and decor, not to mention table decorations, was a stylish affair.

A discerning gentleman will choose the Big Breakfast, especially when it comes with Scrambled eggs, bacon, slow roasted tomato, shimiji mushrooms, chicken and chive sausages, served on sourdough toast.

A salubrious affair.

Smashed Avo was a hit, with poached eggs, avocado, olive oil and lemon, served on sourdough.

We were given some racing tips from expert John from Sportsbet. John was a gentleman himself and his tips for the races were given with style and humour. John's tips proved hit and miss, but that's the nature of racing.
