Hellenic Republic Greek Restaurant Turns 10
Hellenic Republic is celebrating it's 10th birthday and The World Loves Melbourne attended the fabulous birthday celebration in Brunswick.
A party to remember.
George Calombaris paid tribute to his amazing team including head chef Travis McCauley (who pointed out he isn't Greek but has loved the adventure and the things he gets to do in his role). Guests were treated to amazing food, Moet flowing, Greek wines, a band, and an Ouzo Bar. A lamb on a spit/rotisserie was also a highlight, as was the stunning collection of desserts.
First class food offerings came thick and fast throughout the evening.
A huge congrats to George Calombaris and his amazing team.
Succulent lamb has been a trademark of Hellenic Republic.
Hellenic Republic offers authentic Greek cuisine in Melbourne, across several venues, each with their own personality. From the rustic and classic taverna in Brunswick; Kew’s modern-menu-meets-the-classic tavern to Williamstown’s Hellenic Hotel, reinventing the classic pub experience.
Ouzo Bar a great innovation.
George and Travis paying tribute to an amazing team.
Hellenic Republic sources fresh, quality produce from Greece and Melbourne to create authentic Hellenic Republic (Greece) recipes, with a Greek menu to please everyone.
A restaurant "for the people".
We first visited Hellenic Republic around the time it first opened in Brunswick and it immediately became a family favourite. We even have a photo from our visit taking pride of place on the mantelpiece. Since then we have visited several times, excited for the big flavour rewarding dishes, keen service, and the Greek vibe. Not to mention this is one of the best value restaurants in Melbourne.
Skewers of lamb were another feature.
Astonishing cake for the celebration.
I loved this particular Greek wine.
The band in full swing was a huge hit. Conviviality central.
Extraordinary dessert offerings. Get your loukamades on!
Memorable desserts and we were invited to take a box of desserts home with us.

The World Loves Melbourne was privileged to experience the highlights and hits of the last decade at this iconic Melbourne restaurant. To celebrate Hellenic Republic turning 10 there is an offer during November where customers can experience the Masa menu giving the highlights of the decade. Looking forward to the next 10 years!
