Stunning Fancy Sparkling High Tea at Mary Eats Cake
With high tea a popular foodie option in Melbourne, we thoroughly enjoyed the Fancy Sparkling High Tea at Mary Eats Cake in Montrose.
Mary Eats Cake ticks many boxes not just for the quality of the high tea but also the presentation and atmosphere, located in a charming house in Montrose (also in Fitzroy).
The Fancy Sparkling High Tea was excellent not just for its sweet components but also had a killer savoury component (important to me in assessing the quality of a high tea).
The Fancy Sparkling High Tea included:
Bottomless sparkling/wine/beer/mocktails/juice
Bottomless fresh scones with Anathoth farm rasperry jam and fresh whipped cream
4x savoury items
〰citrus poached prawn petite loaf
〰blueberry brisket finger sandwich
〰black tea pear & prosciutto tartlet
〰percorino King Edward croquette
3x desserts and macaron
〰lemon & blackberry tea cake
〰tropical mille-feuille
〰raspberry & snow white ganache tarlet
Bottomless house blended specialty teas (english breakfast, lemon myrtle and ginger) - you can build your own!
Fruit & Cheese board to finish (making this a generous offering for the price).
Highlights included the high quality high tea offerings including the fresh scones, the luxe citrus poached prawn petite loaf and high level savoury component as mentioned, and the quality of the macron and cakes.
The tea was top notch, and the sparkling wine was of a decent quality with @paullouisaus (which has been a favourite of mine for several years).
Staff were engaging and there was a touch of class about the whole experience. I felt it was a luxe experience and excellent value.
Thank you @maryeatscake for having me. #invite
