Lunch at Re-imagined Healesville Hotel
The Healesville Hotel has been a mainstay of Healesville since around the 1900s and has recently changed hands with an experienced new ownership re-imagining this icon. We were invited along to experience the new menu and the changes after a significant rennovation.
The new owners of the Healesville Hotel are the same team behind Armadale's Orrong Hotel: publicans Matt Vero (Marquis of Lorne, Union House, Mt Erica Hotel) and Scott Connolly (Moore St Tavern).
The pair have a tangible affinity with the Yarra Valley and have long-admired the Healesville Hotel growing up. They were keen to secure ownership once the opportunity arose. Having been to this pub before we recognised the bistro, public bar, and beer garden but there's been an epic transformation.
Healesville Hotel is a food and wine destination of note, for a casual drink or full meal in the bistro.
Savvy and delicious food in the airy bistro at our media lunch (new menu) included moorish Sausage rolls with njuda, Margherita arancini balls, House made focaccia, Pork & fennel ragu, massive 400g Club Steak, Local Brussels sprouts, & Dobsons potatoes.
Dessert hit the high notes with Yarra Valley honey panna cotta, poached quince and ginger crunch.
Another highlight was the wine list including the best of local and regional wines. Not to mention their house pour wines such as Maddens Rise 2018 Pinot Noir are exceptional.
One of the gems of Victoria has an exciting new future.
