Dinner at Pier Port Melbourne
We enjoyed a super impressive dinner at Pier Port Melbourne on Bay St by the sea with Head Chef Seung Yeop and team kicking goals.
A touch of class, excellent service, high quality dishes, genuine value and a fab location by the sea (which I could see from our table) are all points of distinction. The restaurant was packed on a Wednesday night.
We (David and Mario) were thinking that Pier Port Melbourne could stand strong as a steak restaurant or a pizza restaurant or indeed a seafood restaurant, as they are strong in all areas. Plus they have an excellent wine and cocktails list.
We ordered -
✨Spicy Margarita cocktail
✨Mixed Berry Mojito cocktail
✨@torzimatthews “Mystic Park” Rosé
✨@hillsmithfamilyestates Chardonnay
✨@cooperburnswines “Sterling” Shiraz
✨3 Natural Oysters (plump and fresh, enjoyed with a squeeze of lemon)
✨3 Oysters Kilpatrick (top notch, well presented)
✨Lobster Roll (an indulgent pleasure)
✨Kingfish Sashimi with green nam jim, pomelo, coconut milk & micro herbs (one of the best I’ve had and Seong’s obvious influence)
✨Butcher’s Cut O’Connor Grain Fed 240 days 300g Scotch fillet (steak perfection, I’m not kidding, with excellent peppercorn sauce on the side and fries)
✨Diavola Wood Fired Pizza with San Marzano tomatoes, fior de latte, hot salami, nduja, Gorgonzola cheese (highly rewarding wood fired pizza with quality ingredients and excellent dough, and flavour and heat of diavola shining through)
✨Fries side dish (generous portion of excellent fries with dipping sauce)
✨Rocket and Parmesan Salad was a meal in itself with a generous portion
✨Mini Doughnut Pillows with Nutella and Double Cream (fun indulgent dessert with generous portions of Nutella and cream).
I was expecting something good but honestly Pier Port Melbourne over-delivered in all aspects. They also have a function area upstairs. A perfect oasis to enjoy magical summer days and nights near the beach.
