Stunning Locavore Nights in Lilydale
We enjoyed stunning dining at Locavore (David and Sam) in the heart of Lilydale as part of their “Locavore Nights”, a distinctive curated culinary journey.
Locavore is a foodie hub featuring a modern restaurant, a top notch providore, a roastery and a catering space. Locavore Studio is based on the concept of “produced within 100km of consumption”.
A welcome cocktail got us in the groove then we enjoyed the Locavore “feed me” menu.
We experienced-
✨Clarified NY Sour (loved the combo of elements and presentation)
✨Lemon Tart Flip (delicious vibrant cocktail)
✨2019 Tahbilk GSM
✨Hop Hen Pale Ale
✨Honey and spelt cob loaf with smoked butter (flavorsome great start)
✨Sobrasada (cured sausage) on sourdough with Leatherwood honey (took me to Spain)
✨Garfish paupiette (fabulous small dish showcasing excellent seafood)
✨Stracciatella with agrodolce tomatoes & green tomato pickle (a bright course)
✨Bone Marrow Custard with toasted bread, gremolata green sauce and roast garlic (playful, rich and delicious)
✨300g Koji Aged Rump Cap with black garlic tare, oyster mushroom (quality steak cooked perfectly with impressive mushroom and sauce)
✨Dressed Ramarro Farm Leaves (fresh and tasty)
✨Kestrel potatoes in chicken sauce (I totally soaked up that sauce)
✨Strawberry Gum Parfait, macadamia, white chocolate, geraldton wax (outstanding and would have stolen the show but for the pavlova)
✨Pavlova, peach, sunrise lime, crème fraiche chiboust (showstopper)
A packed restaurant on a Friday night and it’s no wonder given the high standard of food, beverages and service we experienced. Plus a fabulous atmosphere in a heritage building with attractive booths, tables and an elongated bar.
We highly recommend “Lovacore Nights” as a class act with the little touches and a gem in Lilydale. Kudos to @crossleyjessierae.
