The Graham in Port Melbourne
The Graham is a class act and rewarding dining experience for the discerning. With a great history behind it in Port Melbourne since the 1870s The Graham offers diners excellent cuisine and a sophisticated yet relaxed ambience.
I appreciate experienced staff who know what they're doing and are a focussed team. Recently I've been discovering Port Melbourne and have enjoyed the maritime history as well as several dining destinations. For me The Graham is a standout, elegantly located back from the Bay St strip on Graham Street. I dined at The Graham as an invited guest.
The Graham has come a long way since being a watering hole for the wharfies in Port Melbourne's martime years. I noticed a couple of tables with families celebrating special occasions and I thought that yes this gastropub ticks the boxes for that special event in terms of atmosphere, variety, quality of menu and wine list, and staff that engage with a positive attitude. I'm also aware that The Graham is extremely popular with the locals and is a busy social hub in terms of events, sporting occasions (watch the game here) and wine dinners.
The Victorian grass fed scotch fillet with carrot puree was a triumph for the quality cut of meat as well as being perfectly cooked. Check out the sear marks on the steak.
Also great feedback on the Duck with excellent presentation.
The Graham market fish was a generous portion.
Salads fresh and inviting. I devoured a side serving of fries but did so before I could photograph the evidence.
Souffle bliss ...
The Graham also excels with its Mandarin pannacotta with chocolate and mandarin sorbet.
Then there's always the Bittersweet dark chocolate hazelnut caramel ice cream bar...
And a decent coffee (using Griffiths blend).
Grand architecture is a feature of this old pub...
The dining room displays classic heritage features. Check out the GWB (Graham Wine Bar) and the fabulous courtyard. The Graham is a popular and stand out gastropub in Port Melbourne.
