Hunter's Kitchen is a chic and delightful cafe restaurant just out of town on St Kilda Road. A modern if not retro fit out, serious coffee haven and inspiring menu brings appeal.
The staff are friendly and keen to please and are passionate foodies. The World Loves Melbourne was alerted to this cafe from a reader - and our profuse thanks as we imbibed and enjoyed. It suited to visit Hunter's Kitchen on my way to work - easy to score a park nearby on St Kilda Rd. Surely Hunter's Kitchen is another gem in this culinary city.

Hunter's Kitchen breakfast menu is compelling with options of Mushroom arancini, Zucchini corn fritters and the Big breakfast. But I couldn't resist the humble but legendary Corizo and beans jaffle on a cold winter's morning, with side serve of fries (I know, rugged breakfast fare). The key here is the Brit pastry - a clever idea and brings the crunch to the jaffle. Chorizo and beans are always a superb combo and I really enjoyed this simple delight. There's also a Pesto smoked ham and cheese jaffle with Brit pastry.
Weekend brunch is also a sensation with Three Brioche Confit Pork sliders and Farmers plate options. Or try the Spice dusted calamari or Wagtu meatballs. All tempting. Word on the street is the Dude Deluxe wagyu burger is one of the best in Melbourne! In the meantime another snap of my jaffle...
Hunter's Kitchen also impresses with its gourmet muffins and cakes... Not the average but with extra finesse.
Check out the chic white tiles and hanging naked bulbs... Not to mention quality furniture and great use of timber. On a dreary winter's day the restaurant was filled with light and felt welcoming and warm.
The benches here have a retro feel...
Hunter's boasts an attractive outdoor area which will fire up for the upcoming spring and summer... I dig the precinct with Art Series Hotel The Blackman nearby.
The dinner menu at Hunter's Kitchen has even more appealing options - divided into "little" plates and "big" plates. The Twice cooked pork belly looks outstanding. These guys have it covered with breakfast, lunch and dinner. The wine list has a certain sophistication with mainly boutique Australian and European options.
The commitment to customers is exemplified in opening hours of 7am to 11pm Monday to Saturday. Treat yourself by driving a few km out of the city to Hunter's Kitchen. It rocks.
