Mr Collins Smart Italian in Collins Square
Mr Collins is a sharp addition to the Docklands end of Collins Street boasting fine Italian cuisine at every price point. Come here for fine gourmet pizzas or for inventive piadino's and baguettes. The coffee is also excellent. Grab a tasty selection from the counter or sit back for table service where tattoed and hip Italian speaking staff will engage you.
Mr Collins is a refreshing addition and while next to the food court, has the feel of a smart casual dining restaurant. A modern fit out with tiles and chic chairs and tables, entices. Display cabinets are full of hanging meats and cheeses. How good is this? We've been looking for some more sophisticated options in the precinct!
Check out the treats from the front cabinet (above). Even the croissants are made with gourmet ham and cheese. And the Italian cakes impress, including the decadent Bomolini's with choice of custard or Nutella fillings. I've given up visiting at lunchtime and trying not to buy the Bombolini - resistance is futile! The baguettes are so fresh and full of gourmet ingredients, notably the salmon and the tuna.
Mr Collins pours an excellent coffee and is a top notch destination for breakfast.
Mr Collins has a tone of conviviality with gregarious staff and an attitude of good times and fun. Staff often joke between each other, but at the end of the day the service is serious.
I could have posted more of the food I've eaten here, but I do fancy some of their breakfast treats like this spinach and egg piadina.

Mr Collins cooks up a fabulous pizza including Primavera, San Daniele, Capricciosa and Caprese. They even make gourmet salads including Black quinoa and Caprese salads. Or check out the home made pastas such as Gnocchi Sorrentina and Ravioloni Burro and Salvia.
Some would love the Cured meats and Cheese boards, and you can design your own board!
Mr Collins has something for everyone and is well worth a visit. A great place for taking clients also. Highly recommended.
