David Jones Sliders on Union

David Jones is spreading its foodie love onto the streets and lanes with the groudbreaking Sliders on Union pop up on Friday nights in November.

The first Friday night event went off with people everywhere in Union Lane next to the David Jones store. It was a party atmosphere of conviviality as David Jones set up stools and tables, and cooked up fresh burgers off the grill. Along with the burgers David Jones served up a range of beverages.

And there was a graffiti artist and DJ to boot, enhancing the party ambience.

Due to rain the pop up was moved into the David Jones Food Hall for the second event - not to worry, it was a hit.

We are looking forward to the third event in Union Lane this Friday from 5pm!

You have to ask yourself - is this really a department store doing this?

David Jones is known for finery and they impress with premium burgers served fresh and juicy straight off the grill. Check out the Wagyu or the Lamb burgers.

David Jones excites with this Wagyu burger. They use Peter Bouchier meat, known to many discerning Melburnians. This is a top notch burger - with superb brioche, quality patty, pickles and cheese and designer lettuce. And it's not petite - rather a solid serving of premium burger. I rate it.

And by the way I'm impressed with the Oyster Bar (grab half dozen and a glass of champagne), Roast Bar (fresh quality cuts), Noodle Bar, regular foodie events  and general innovation in the David Jones Food Hall.

A premium burger and beer is only $15 at Sliders on Union - great value. There's no other burger like David Jones.

David Jones are mixing it with the hipsters as well as the high brows. In fact the crowd is a diverse mix of peoples.

The Store Manager of David Jones, Volkan Ozturk and his colleague Elizabeth are foodies through and through.

Get along on a Friday night after work from 5pm to 9pm for the month of November.
