N2 Extreme Gelato Irresistible
N2 Extreme Gelato is a compelling gelato destination which is famous for its liquid nitrogen process in the making of their products. N2 Gelato has become a favourite stop by for Sydneysiders and Melbournians. We enjoy visiting this place on our way out of the city. This is top notch gelato with interesting flavours. And don't forget the blow torches and syringes...
N2 Extreme Gelato has everything on display. You can view the staff at work, the fresh gourmet ingredients and the liquid nitrogen steaming away during the churning process.... It's clever marketing and great theatre. It's in fact almost like a science lab with staff taking cannisters from the fridge and applying the liquid nitrogen - much more fun than the chemistry workshops we did at school.
Flavours are compelling and are displayed on the large board. We ordered the Strawberries and Cream, the Salted caramel and the Black Cherry Bush. All were sensational. To be honest I'm not a huge gelato or ice cream lover but I was right into this gear.
At $6 a cup/scoop its actually great value. As they say themselves this is indulgent gelato. It's rich and creamy. You don't need loads and loads of it. We can share 3 cups between 4 of us.
Check out the liquid nitrogen action...
The Black Cherry Bush was rich and indulgent and topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Rich chocolate gelato with dark brownie crumbs and a hidden centre of sour cherries.
The Salted caramel was incredibly satisfying and had a higher level of saltiness than what I expected, but I loved. For those of us who eat salted caramel dishes all around town, this is a great rendition. It's so indulgent I'm not sure I could eat a second scoop. But then again I probably could...
The Strawberries and cream was also rich and delightfully refreshing. Real fruit and great consistency. And that's what I deduced - I think it must be the liquid nitrogen process that gives the gelato such an awesome consistency. Since writing the previous sentence I confirmed this fact with research - the liquid nitrogen freezes the ice cream quicker than traditional methods resulting in more of a smoothness.
And for me this texture is more sophisticated than the larger crystal variety. I'm into smoothness - smooth whisky, smooth cocktails, and smooth ice cream to mention a few.
N2 Extreme Gelato changes its flavours every week, so kudos for the creativity. That's why I want to come back here. I wanted to get a flavour with blow torch or syringe action, but there's so many attractive choices here.
Staff are trendy and upbeat and service is fast - only takes a few moments to get your gelato. Just watch out for the cash only policy - it keeps the queue moving fast but you might need to order then visit a nearby ATM.
N2 Extreme Gelato has casual areas with fake lawn on which to sit and eat your gelato.
N2 Extreme Gelato exudes a sense of fun and fascination with the process on display. I enjoy N2 Extreme Gelato visually, and I enjoy it in terms of its ambience, and of course I enjoy it taste wise. Irresistible.
