La La Land Wines Great Summer Drink Now

The World Loves Melbourne enjoys its wine and was grateful to receive stunning wines from Wingara Group, notably their new range of La La Land Wines. These are the perfect ready to go drink now wines for your summer BBQ or around the dining table with friends and family. (And it's also perfect to take around to that dinner party or catch up).

The Wingara Wine Group proudly launched La La Land Wines mid year -  an eclectic brand imbued with an entertaining sense of escapism.

Stylistically, LLL wines are flavoursome and generous, fashioned with creative flair. LLL wines are crafted by winemaker Phil Spillman, who specialises in seamless “drink now” styles.  James Halliday once described Phil as a “gifted” winemaker, who creates “consistency and clarity of branding reminiscence of Rosemount Estate in the glory days”. (Weekend Australian 24/10/09). La La Land Malbec 2013

The initial LLL offering includes a Tempranillo and Malbec, both from the 2013 vintage.  The World Loves Melbourne thinks Tempranillo and Malbec is on trend and consumers are seeking alternatives to straight Cabernet and Shiraz.

As for the Malbec this has loads of character: Bold flavours and a broody personality, “El Loco” is all about forest fruits, exotic spice, splashes of dark chocolato and a dash of vanilla. 100% Malbec fruit from Victorian vineyards was fermented for thirteen days and matured in seasoned French oak for 10 months. The World Loves Melbourne considers this wine to be a perfect match for food.

Alc: 13.5% pH: 3.4 Acidity: 6.3g/L RS: 3.5g/L. The World Loves Melbourne found plenty of body in the Malbec and it was smooth across the palate.

Designed to drink now with lots of noisy friends and plates of pulled pork sliders and Argentinian BBQ ribs, this wine is equally happy to lay low, earning compound interest over the next 6 years.

La La Land Tempranillo 2013

The World Loves Melbourne loves a great Tempranillo and will often order tempranillo when out and about because its just such a great "food" wine.

A Spanish beauty with trademark smoothness, along with black cherries, juicy blackberries and little blueberries… layers of raspberry, liquorice and mocha.   100% Tempranillo from Victorian vineyards, this wine as fermented for twelve days.  After clarification, it rested in seasoned French and American oak barrels for nine months. Alc/Vol: 14% pH: 3.40 Acidity:6.6g/L RS: 3.5g/L

LLL Tempranillo hums nicely with Hispanic cuisine- spicy chorizo, jamon and patatas bravas. The World Loves Melbourn eenjoys wine in this style and with berry characteristics.

With a recommended retail price of $16, La La Land wines is available in retail stores.  Please contact Wingara Wine Group for stockists.
