The World Loves Melbourne enjoyed the original cocktails at The Table Lamp Restaurant & Bar.
The timber panelling and the green glow of the bar area add to the ambience. The fit out at The Table Lamp Restaurant & Bar offers a contemporary aesthetic while paying homage to traditional Asian elements.
Balinese artwork and timber is an aesthetic standout.
A premium dish is the Sumptuous Thai featuring Thai red curry duckling with a subtle blend of lemongrass, galangal, chillies, basil, onion, spices and finished with coconut milk. This dish was a highlight for The World Loves Melbourne with excellent amount of heat (not dumbed down for Western tastes) and generous portion of perfectly cooked duck. All curries come with rice. Cracking dish.
Another signature dish is the Cheese baked crab shell stuffed with disced chicken, bacon and spices in carbonara sauce. We loved this fusion dish with its creaminess and interplay of crab and diced chicken.
Another crowd favourite dish is Flaming Racks featuring roast lamb cutlets with black pepper, rosemary, oregano and butter. This dish is peppery hot on the tongue but preserving the nuances of the meat flavours.
We were also taken by this fusion dish of Golden Whiskers Scallops with fresh scallops wrapped in fragrant mango and jack fruit. This was a surprise combination but the fruits set off the scallops beautifully.
The Table Lamp Restaurant & Bar excels in its superb presentation of dishes. This is fine dining Asian fusion.
Desserts at The Table Lamp Restaurant & Bar are also rewarding, including this Tiramisu, another fusion dish. The layers were perfectly constructed, the coffee hit rewarding, and the cake elements moist.
The presentation was again first class. Desserts here also include a delectable sweet treat of Mango glaze and white chocolate mousse; Chocolate curls cake with custard, and Lemon meringue with gelato and chocolate dressing.
The Table Lamp Restaurant & Bar has a romantic atmosphere at night. The World Loves Melbourne checked out the view from the balcony with colours and lights of the city spectacular.
