Archibald Winner Vincent Fantauzzo @ The Boyd with Audi
Vincent Fantauzzo has never had an art lesson in his life, but this perennial Archibald Prize winner has won a stack of awards with his stunning portraits. His aim is to make art for people who generally aren't interested in the art scene. The World Loves Melbourne was thrilled to be invited to a high class Audi Lifestyle event at Boyd Community in the Melbourne arts precinct. Vincent has worked and exhibited worldwide with exhibitions in India, Vietnam, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Australia.
Vincent works out of a large studio at Boyd and is himself an Audi Ambassador. We were let in to the world of Vincent Fantauzzo, to admire his large portraits, and to hear from the artist himself. The World Loves Melbourne enjoys these exclusive Audi events for their celebration of innovation, creativity and the finer things in life made accessible. Audi is about more than just an amazing car, but about lifestyle.
We also loved that Vincent is a Melbourne man, having graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. He was thrilled to have recently won the GQ Artist of the Year 2014.
Vincent has won acclaim for this portrait of his partner Asher Keddie, one of Australia's most popular actors, who has starred in television shows like Offspring and Paper Giants: The Birth of Cleo, the story of Ita Buttrose. This portrait of Asher Keddie is breathtaking, the detail exquisite, and the feel of the painting is of serenity in a world of chaos. It won People's Choice Archibald prize.
Check out this video of Vincent's Q&A with an Audi representative as part of a masterclass -

Amazing catering from Shannon Bennett's Vue De Monde...
The intimate gathering were treated to a wonderful evening celebrating fine art, food and culture.
