Electrolux Masterclass with Scott Pickett at Taste of Melbourne
The World Loves Melbourne was invited to an exclusive Electrolux Chefs’ Secret’s masterclass with Scott Pickett at Taste of Melbourne.
Electrolux teamed up with Australia’s leading chefs to give people a taste of the professionals at the first-ever Electrolux Chefs’ Secrets during Taste of Melbourne.
Located in the picturesque Pelican Lawn at Albert Park, the Electrolux Chefs’ Secrets was a pop-up designer kitchen and dining space where we got up close and personal with some of Melbourne’s culinary superstars including Scott Pickett (Estelle Bistro), Pierrick Boyer (Le Petit Gateau), Richard Ousby (Stokehouse), Shaun Quade (Lûmé), Reuben Davies (The Press Club & Press Club – Projects) and Jo Barrett (Oakridge winery).
The class was hosted by Italian chef, Massimo Mele, and we had the opportunity to cook alongside Scott and prepare one of his signature dishes whilst also learning cooking secrets and kitchen hacks from the best in the business. Scott Pickett, Owner and Chef at Estelle Bistro, says: “At the Electrolux Chefs’ Secrets I’ll be showing people how to cook one of my first signature dishes, handmade gnocchi and prawn bolognese.
I love this recipe because it reminds me of my childhood but has a modern twist. “Gnocchi is a dish that anyone can cook at home if they follow a few golden rules. My secret to this dish is to bake the potatoes, rather than boil, and make your gnocchi while the potatoes are still hot.” Following the hands-on session, we enjoyed the meal together at a communal table with a glass of matched wine.
